The Central California Coast

The Central California Coast
A quick pop in to the Central Coast.

An old friend and I impulse bought some cheap tickets to pay a visit to her family, and tool around in San Luis Obispo. We did a little window shopping in downtown SLO, and I found this "R" initial pendant from Len Collective. Just down the street at the long-standing Finders Keepers Consignment, I scored a sweet Rachel Comey button up that I can share with my hubs, and this very delicious, abstract purple top by Christian Wijnants

The next day, we fulfilled a lifelong dream of mine- to visit Hearst Castle. The place is so grand, so wild, so strangely beautiful! We toured the guest suites, and I wonder if the brilliant architect Julia Morgan insisted that all the suite's closets be made from cedar- which stood out as the most practical touch in the place? I'll bet so.

We rounded out the trip by doing some very "Central Coast" things: tasted around at Tin City; drove down a dirt road off highway 101 to pick up sausages from Roy; indulged in one of my all time guilty pleasures; went moonstone hunting; and had a slice of Pink Champagne cake at the Madonna Inn.
